Modern Luxury Media of Miami has partnered with Castle Connolly to select the Top Doctors for 2023.  Only the top 7% of physicians across the US receive this prestigious honor which is based on education, experience and peer nominations.  Dr. Rubenstein was selected to receive the Castle Connolly Top Doctor award for 2023! Fort Lauderdale Illustrated Magazine (FLI) conducted a poll among other physicians in So. Florida to name their choice for Top Doctors.  This poll asked physicians who among them represents excellence in the medical field and Dr. Rubenstein was nominated as one of the Top Doctor’s for 2023. Richard M. Rubenstein, M.D., is a board certified dermatologist who has been practicing for more than 30 years. He leads a team of doctors at Skin and Cancer Associates in Delray Beach and Tamarac.

Dr. Rubenstein provides patients from newborns to 100 with the latest advances in dermatology and laser technology. His areas of expertise include skin cancer surgery, Botox, sclerotherapy, dermal fillers, sun damage, spider veins as well as pediatric dermatology. He even treats the new condition called maskne (rashes caused by wearing masks for a long time).

The happily married Boca Raton resident loves being in a field that’s people-oriented. “We see patients who came as teens and now are adults. Then we see their children,” he says. 

“I don’t tell the patient what to do. I give my advice and explain the options. I like to call it a partnership,” he says. He also enjoys treating snowbirds who come from his native New Jersey. Known for his stellar bedside manner, he even develops relationships with their northern dermatologists. 

Dr. Rubenstein earned his bachelor’s at Duke University and his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School Of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York and his residency in dermatology at Northwestern University. He is also board certified in internal medicine. 

Dr. Rubenstein has been named one of South Florida’s top doctors by Castle Connolly every year since 2012. He was nominated by his peers to the U.S. News and World Report list of America’s Top Doctors, selected as one of the Top Docs for Dermatology by Boca Life and as a top doctor by Fort Lauderdale Magazine. 

He has authored and co-authored more than 10 published articles about dermatology. He is past president of the Broward County Dermatologic Society and a member of Palm Beach Dermatological Society, Florida Society of Dermatology and American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Rubenstein is also co-director of the Dermatology Residency Program at Larkin Hospital in Delray Beach.

Everyone that enters the office MUST have a face mask on.

Please avoid bringing anyone with you unless, it is a minor with an appointment or accompanying you for physical help.

Hello patients!

We hope you are all staying safe & healthy. In order to keep our patients and staff as safe as possible, we have made the decision to limit our face to face interactions. Our offices have switched over to a majority telemedicine healthcare system while the virus is active in the community. The switch to telemedicine allows our providers to have access to patients, while keeping our patients and staff safe. You may still call your office and ask to schedule a telemedicine appointment with your provider.
Effective 3/31/20 until 4/10/20, our offices will ONLY see SEVERELY URGENT cases in person. If you are unsure if your case would be considered severely urgent, please discuss with the office staff.

UPDATE 3/22/2020 regarding COVID-19.

As this is an evolving situation, some decisions have been made in order to improve the safety of our patients and that of our medical staff. We have already implemented some of those changes at our Tamarac and Delray locations. There have been increased sanitation practices at our offices. We have also asked anyone with symptoms such as Cough, Fever, and/or Shortness of Breath not to enter our office.

If you are concerned that you have been exposed to COVID-19, please call 954-357-9500 before traveling to any health care facility.

Effective 3/23/2020, and until further notice, the following changes will be in effect:
-Patients MUST have an appointment scheduled before entering the office.
-Provider’s will not be performing routine skin exams. Only urgent cases will be seen. These include rashes, skin cancers, and infections. If you are not sure if your condition is considered an “urgent situation”, please contact our offices and discuss your particular situation with a staff member.
-All cosmetic, light, laser, and elective procedures will be postponed until further notice. If you have any concerns, we urge you to contact our office. If in doubt, call us.
-To ensure that our patients still receive the care that they need and require, our medical provider’s now have the capability of TeleHealth consultations. If you wish to schedule such appointment, please contact the office to do so.
